Conditions Where Shockwave May Be Used
Shockwave is used for specific tendon and soft-tissue conditions. Your physiotherapist confirms whether it is suitable for you at the assessment.
Heel Pain & Plantar Fasciitis
Pain under the heel, often worst with the first steps in the morning, including heel spur-related pain.
Tennis & Golfer’s Elbow
Pain on the outer or inner elbow linked to repetitive gripping and arm use.
Shoulder Tendon Problems
Rotator cuff tendinopathy and calcific tendinitis affecting shoulder movement.
Achilles Tendon Pain
Pain and stiffness in the Achilles tendon above the heel.
Knee Tendon Pain
Patellar tendon pain below the kneecap, common with sport and jumping activities.
Outer Hip Pain
Pain on the side of the hip linked to tendon irritation around the hip.

If your doctor has recommended shockwave therapy, bring the referral and any reports or scans. Your physiotherapist reviews them, completes a short assessment and plans your sessions. Shockwave is usually combined with targeted exercise as part of the plan.

The initial assessment costs 400 EGP. The price of shockwave depends on the area being treated and is confirmed by your physiotherapist after the assessment, before treatment begins.
How many shockwave sessions will I need?
Plans usually include several sessions spaced over a few weeks. Your physiotherapist confirms the number after the assessment and reviews it as you progress.
Is shockwave therapy painful?
You may feel some discomfort during the session. The intensity is adjusted to your tolerance, and mild soreness afterwards can be normal.
